Prepare your magma motion lamp

Unpack your magma motion lamp and ensure all parts are present. Place the lamp on a stable surface away from heat sources. The lamp operates at a warm temperature and the glass bottle should be handled with care. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Check the power cord for any damage and that the voltage matches your household's electrical supply.

Use your magma motion lamp

Plug in your lamp, turn it on, and let it warm up for 120 minutes. After 180 minutes, the mesmerising motion will begin. For optimal performance, maintain a room temperature between 21°C and 26°C and avoid placing the lamp near heat or cold sources. If the wax floats to the top, it's a sign of overheating. Turn off the lamp for a brief period, then turn it back on to restore the motion.

Maintain your magma motion lamp

Regular maintenance can significantly extend the lifespan of the lamp and ensure optimal performance. Do not add any fluids or solids to the lamp as the air space at the top is for expansion. Avoid direct sunlight exposure, as it can cause colour fading. Do not move or shake the lamp while it's on. Use a fine glass cleaner and a soft rag to clean the surface. Always unplug the lamp before cleaning.

This lava lamp works almost straight out of the box

⁠This lava lamp works almost straight out of the box, you will only have to put a few pars together - I found it required a minimum effort. The lamp houses a beautiful, elegant flowing wax in an iconic design that would fit well in an Jetsons episode. Yet there is not much fancy to the lamp, its simple lamp warmth that starts the wax to flow and that then conjures up the classic, nostalgic vibes. Placing such a vintage lava lamp in my man cave yielded an instant positive positive results. It has quite a profound effect on my creativity and my many geeky projects are now driven in new, even more spectacular directions.
