The humble potato is actually so versatile that you will see recipes using it in literally every state of every country of every continent! We have a feeling that even the research centres in Antarctica stock up on potatoes!

One of the reasons why potatoes are so loved is because they have a mild flavour of their own, which allows them to soak up all kinds of spices and ingredients. Whether you are looking for air fryer recipes for beginners or you want full-on recipes, here are 8 of our picks:

  1. Baked potatoes – There is something so warming and comforting about baked potatoes and while the traditional method is in a regular oven, did you know that you can do the same in an air fryer too? All you need to do is wash and dry the potatoes, spray them with oil and season them. As opposed to the regular oven, your roasted potatoes will be ready in a fraction of the time.
  2. Herby roast potatoes – If you have some baby potatoes lying around your pantry, then this recipe is great for you. Wash and dry the potatoes and put an x on all of them. Make a coating using just a tiny amount of oil and add seasonings like garlic powder, salt and plenty of herbs of your choice. We suggest a combination of dried mint, thyme and rosemary – once you have this ‘dressing’ ready, toss your potatoes in it and then place in the air fryer basket. These crispy potatoes will be ready in no time, are healthier because they need much less oil and will be ready in a jiffy, because our air fryers are that efficient!
  3. Potato chips – Set those packaged chips away, because you can make the crispiest, crunchiest chips right at home and that too with very little oil. Here is the simplest air fryer potato chips recipe - slice your potatoes thin and then coat them in oil, which can be seasoned as per your preference – salt, paprika, garlic powder, peri-peri seasoning, whatever excites your tastebuds. Now, lay them out in a single file and air fry for about 12-15 minutes on high power. Do check the chips in between to make sure that they are not getting burnt.
  4. Potato wedges – Generally potato wedges, like potato chips, are deep fried, and although deep fried foods are ok for an occasional treat, they are not the healthiest option for regular consumption. However, if you try out this wedges recipe, you will see how wedges can become a tad bit healthier. Coat the wedges in a large spoonful of oil and season them the way you like – salt, cayenne pepper, parsley and rosemary are all good options. In a single layer, air fry the wedges till they start becoming golden brown and crisp on the outside, while fluffy and delicious inside.
  5. Hash browns – There are a few people who don’t like starting their day with some perfectly cooked eggs and delicious hash browns! If you are one of them, then you will like this version of air fryer hash browns – all you need to do is, shred some potatoes and rinse them once to remove extra starch. Mix in some salt, onion powder, garlic powder and chilli, if you like; you can even add other seasonings of your choice. Shape this mix into hash browns of a size that you like and then place them in the air fryer and do remember to spray a little oil on top. In less than 20 minutes or so, you should have deliciously crunchy air fryer potatoes that you can enjoy!
  6. Potato skins – Whether you are looking for a crispy snack or you want to add some pizzazz to a normal weekday dinner, these deliciously crispy potato skins are your answer. Once you are done prepping the skins, all you need to do is coat them in a thin layer of oil and season with salt and pepper. Lay them out in a single line and within minutes, you will have crunchy skins, which you can douse with cheese, sour cream, bacon or even chicken curry!
  7. Hasselback potatoes – If you have always salivated over those gorgeous Hasselback potatoes that you get at restaurants, then you will like this one. We will tell you how to make these potatoes, right at home, with our air fryer – place a potato between two chopsticks and then make thin cuts; the chopsticks will make sure that you don’t cut all the way through. Brush a mix of oil and butter and seasoning of your choice – salt, pepper, paprika, herbs; you can create the blend you want. Make sure that the mixture goes all the way into the slits and then place them inside the air fryer basket. You need to cook the potato till the middle is tender and then you can add the toppings of your choice.
  8. Potato tortillas – Oh yes, you can actually make tortillas and tacos using potatoes! Prepare a base using mashed potatoes and season them with the basics like salt and pepper. Now, take a piece of parchment paper and spread the mixture in a thin circle and brush a little oil on top. Air fry the disc till crip and your tortilla is ready for all kinds of toppings. And in case you want to make tacos, the same method goes, but you will need to fold it up!
